From the kitchen's window, I can see through the theater's windows. Sometimes, in the evenings, brights lights are illuminating a big reception room adorned with a big chandelier. Somehow there is no distance between theses gatherings and me as I mentally jump into the crowd to get a blurry fuss. Only the language barrier is keeping me from attending the plays, or, maybe, I enjoy more getting the excitement and liveliness of social life from afar.
Outside the whole city is a yet to be discovered territory, strangers smile at me and I smile at strangers. A new pace of life has taken me over while an unexpected inward space revealed itself to me, in this new but temporary daily life.
When I first looked over this urban landscape from the top of its central hill, I was humbled by the experience - in the way a clear view of the horizon can provide inner perspective and relativity. I followed with my eyes the curves of the surrounding hills and mountains, admired how protective they stand - preventing by their presence an irreversible horizontal expansion and population.
Inside this mineral and vegetal nest, I felt protected from the overspeed which characterises a life in a constant state of busyness.
